Jan1st, 2011...I am home with no children because Reese is sick with the flu, and I can't be around her with a fever.It stinks to high heaven not to be able to take care of your babies when they are sick. It STINKS!! But, we are thankful there are people who can take care of them like Mimi, Popi, and Yaya. This is the first time I've gotten really angry at this cancer. It now is pissing me off..:) BUT 5 down, only 3 more to go.

The first 4 treatments were pretty much what they said it would be like. Nausea, tired, but for the most part after the first 5 days, things were ok again.I go every 2 weeks, but I got a 3 week break between my last one which helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel. Week 3 I felt like my old self again. Thank you Jesus.This last round is a drug called Taxol. So far no nausea, but I still have to take the neulesta shot which make you feel very sore. Like the worst flu you ever had, or like you've been in a car wreck. Literally every bone in your body hurts. The shot boosts your immune system, so the hurt is good. I know it is working then.

Christopher and I have lots of ideas for this year. What can we do to bring Glory to God, and give back to others. We have had our pants blessed off through out all of this. I can't imagine going through this without the support I have had. Through family, friends, and our church, they have shown Gods grace and mercy. God has answered prayers,and provided more than we could of imagined.
Thank you to everyone who has said a prayer for our family or helped in anyway. We Love you and are very grateful!

Now..gonna order me some Yen Ching..the steroids are kicking in..:)

Reese had a "birthday" party at the Olive Garden with mimi, yaya, Lindsey and Regan and I.She was a ham. After lunch, she got to go see her first movie at a theater. Tangled. It was a good day.

Friday,Oct 29th..

It was time to cut my hair,,so we decided a party would be the only way to go. That day was also the same day we found out the place on my face that we thought was a staph. infection, turned out to be shingles. It looked like I had the crap beat out of me, but I wasn't contagious, the girls both had the pox vaccine, so we were good the party was on...:)

I thought Regan would have a hard time with it because she loved to rub my hair on her face and play with it, but turns it hasn't bothered her bit.:)

Kristin had the hard job of cutting it off.. I only cried a little bit, then kicked myself in the ass and got on with it..:)

Reese enjoyed helping ,, it really hasn't effected her either.. God is so good to take care of things like this..

Of course Regan got hungry in the middle of it all.. and even with 15 people there,, only momma would do..:)

There it is... hopefully some nice kid will enjoy being a redhead. ( Locks of Love)

It was a good night..a night filled with wonderful friends, who have helped us so much through all of this,, I can't imagine doing this alone..

And now after it has been all said and done..the no hair thing is not a big deal at all....it's honestly kinda nice.. I can get ready from shower to make-up in 20 min... then decide what to put on.. hat? wig?? scarf?? DONE!! Easy!!

I think if it were more socially acceptable more people would..:)

So there I said it.If you haven't heard I got diagnosed with the big "C" on Sept 1st. I'm trying to figure out how to blog this journey, so we'll see how it goes..:)
~At 35, on Regan's 1st birthday, I found the lump myself. It was at the top of the my skin and very easy to tell something was there.
~Sept 30th went to see my family doc.
~next day, had a mammogram, ultrasound, and biopsy all with in 4 hours. ( I love that they could do it all at the Breast Center and I didn't have to leave)
~ Sept 1st got the call.. Lobular Breast Cancer
~Sept 3rd had the breast MRI.. ( fun,, fun,,) :)
~Sept 8th met my wonderful surgeon, Dr. Vassey
~Sept 21st had a partial mastectomy.. same day surgery
~Sept 29th post surgery appointment where we learned the tumor was 2 cm..
2 of the 3 lymph nodes were good, but there was a small amount found in one of the sentinel nodes
~Oct 12 met Dr.Stevens, my wonderful oncologist, where we decided on my treatment
8 chemo treatments, every other week , then 6 weeks of radiation. A bit on the aggressive side, but hopefully with my age and "healthy" body it won't be too bad..:)
~Oct 20th first Chemo treatment

Christopher and I got to go away for the day to St. Louis with Mike & Julie. I don't know if it was the company, or the fact we hadn't been away from the kids in a LONG time, but we had a BLAST!! I haven't laughed so hard in a long time..:)

We are very blessed to have many people in the kid's life. One particular is Ms. Kathy. Kathy has came almost every Thurs afternoon since Reese was a year old. Besides her helping me with the kids while I work, she loves the kids and teaches them things that I don't even think about. This day, they decided to pull the lawn chair in the front yard and watch the cars.( we live on a dead end street, so there really isn't that much.) But what I realized as I watched them while I worked, Kathy was teaching Reese to be still... That you don't have to run around all the time, to sit back and enjoy, take in Gods beauty. .I'm not sure if Ms Kathy will ever know how important she is in our lives, but we love her bunches!!

This was just one day where all she wanted was to be held, and I was trying to get supper ready.. poor thing...

After we went bowling, we went back to Granny's and played alittle corn hole.

~ Regan has started pulling up and standing trying to figure out how to walk
~we went to the new swim park on the West side of town, and it is almost like the one in Newton
~ Last Saturday we went to Mikayla's swim me to Cheer her on
and just a reminder to myself of a few of Reese's funny phrases....

and the singing.... Lord all the singing,, it never ends..:) Somewhere over the rainbow is sung at least 20 times a day,, in 2 different octaves..

I need to write them down when she says them, so I remember better..:)

It is pretty helpful.. I fill up a 5 gallon bucket and she pulls it to the back 40 so I can water my flowers... I know,, I need to be careful w/. the child labor laws..:)

So after 10 tons of dirt that were moved, planting and lots of rain, we finally finished up on Mon. afternoon. Soon the rain will stop, and we might get some grass started.. yeh!!

Reese was such an angel all weekend,, so when we finished up,, it was off to the play park where the child could swing for hours!!

Dirty Work

We are now in deep working on the house..that is why I haven't posted for a long while,, we are just busy trying to get things done before baby gets here.. so this weekend is landscaping. This is our 3rd load of dirt... good Lord we should finally have enough now,,;)

Reese loves it.. she's our dirty girl most of the time now.. loves to help.. and eat dirt... I can't keep it out of her mouth.. so now it is hard core.. dirt in mouth = time out.. inside.. ( some days it works ,, others..nah..)

Don't do it,,,,, no eating dirt !!!

Last weekend YaYa and Linzy came down to do some hair.. and brought with them xmas & bday gifts from aunt Kathy for Reese.2 of the gifts choked me up,,and almost made me cry.. they were exactly what Grandma would of got for Reese.Grandma LOVED poofy, girly-girl dresses.
This adorable outfit was perfect.

R was very excited about the cool beads...and food

and then she got the little girl holding a #2... Beth and I had them,, and Grandma wanted to start a collection for R and got her the first one last year....(tear)

Just when I thought we were out of the woods for getting the colds everyone has had,,, we got caught. Poor little Reesie.. This is the first time she has had a bad cold... So far Christopher and I are hanging in there, with just a light cold,,,

I did go to Walgreen's yesterday to get medicine,,,, since I had none for sickness,,,I left $90.00 later,,

I just love that store,.,,, you can get everything!!! I got laundry detergent,,,some candles,,medicine of course.( which is expensive!!) I even picked up some Easter candy..he..he..

My favorite buys were these: This stuff will open anyone up!!

I sure hope after today power is back on in our neighborhood. we have been very lucky,, our house has 1/2 power. The north side of our house does, not the south. Luckily the furnace and water heater is on.. many people still do not have any power,,( the neighbors across the street)
So TODAY I saw a couple big trucks, and new pole,, and other guys heading to the end of the street!!! YEAH!!
Oh how I am tired if all the extension cords across the house,, I want my heat light when I shower,,, and I want my dishwasher again.. all of the things I have taken advantage of.. power please!!

Well,,,, I had good intentions of making all of the food. Trying to be frugal for the new year,, cooking more,, spending less @ the grocery store. Here's what I found out.. It is EXPENSIVE!!! I HATE to grocery shop!! Meat is high,,, spices are high,, everything.

So,,, no steak tips, I have all the stuff, but the day I was to make it,, I ended up working later than I thought,,( with Chris's schedule I need to have dinner ready @ 4:30.. not so east when working.)
And Fri, I had a dumb ass attack and laid out our cinn.rolls like always for Sat. breakfast.. forgetting I was going to make them fresh. Oh-well
And still no camera. My plan is Tues while Reese is @ Kristin's to go get one. It is just too hard to shop for a camera w/Reese. She is too busy!!:)

So here's the deal, since a family member(Beth) :) tells me everyday to put up some pictures I thought I' de let ya know why...

I can't. This frickn camera now has a electrical short in it so it won't let the battery stay charged, and I can't retrieve my pictures. Damn thing.

So I need to camera hunt. I hate doing this. It is such a pain to go to the places,, try them out,, and them hope for the best. But I will, maybe tomorrow... so hopefully so I will me able to put up a new picture of little bit.

I hope everyone had a great xmas,,, we really did!! It was an extended one.. lasted a week. Reese doesn't know what to do w/everything. Having a bday this close to the holiday makes everything blur together. I also have a heavy heart, thinking about the Reidle family and what they are going through, I just can't imagine.
On a lighter note.. Reese and I were playing hide and seek, and I was walking down the hall and spotted this....

this is her favorite place to hide. I just HAD to get a crack picture!!

I sat down last night to download all my pictures ( 158 of them) And the sad part is I really have no good ones. Reese is a shit about getting her picture taken and I have lots of the back of the head, side profile pictures. Very disappointed. I need to ask Amber what camera to get that doesn't have ANY sort of delay. If anyone has a camera they love,, please let me know!!

So today this darn computer is working,, I would love to post pictures of Reese's first, 2nd bday party,but last Mon. when I downloaded them, the computer crashed again,, and now I can't find them. I'm trying not to freak out,, I have faith in our computer guy that her will find them. :)

busy week

It has been a VERY busy week.
First of all,,,, a big PRAISE JESUS that our house is sold and we closed on Wed.!!!
I wish I had the energy to tell the whole story, but to make a long story short,, we put an offer on a house Sept.15th,,, closed on the house Oct 15th, and sold ours Nov. 19th. We didn't even have to list our house w/ a realtor!! All in the worst time ever.
It is like we were the chess set and God was moving things just where they needed to be.

I am also super excited for Reese's bday and xmas.,,,,,
She will have so much fun this year,,, and it is so fun to shop for her. She likes pretty much anything, and it doesn't have to be expensive. LOVE the dollar store!!!

So I have been thinking,, 6 random things

1. I play piano/guitar for our praise band on Sunday nights,, it is truly a highlight of my week, (or every other) even though there are times it is a pain in the butt to get there.
2. My Reesie is a bad sleeper. I got 5 hrs last night. 3 then 1 then 1 hr. The doc keeps saying one day she will grow out of it, she is just like her daddy and doesn't require that much sleep. It is amazing what your body can adapt too when it has too. :)
3. Before i was married and had Reese I work as a Salon Educator for a large manufacturer. I got to dress up in the hippest clothes, the COOLEST, HIGHEST shoes, and got to travel from New york city (where our salon was in Rockefeller center) to L.A. where our corporate offices are. It was a different life, sometimes I forget I even did all of that,, like today when I was at Target, excited because I found a 9$ holiday shirt. It is very mommy-ish and I only got it cause Reese likes it.Not something I would have chose before,, but oh what we will do to make them smile. I wouldn't trade this life for a million $$!!
4. I truly believe the reason I took that job, was so I could re-meet Christopher. If I wouldn't have been on the road traveling we would have never ran into each other. ( It is amazing what you can find at a truck stop) ;)
5. I bought a cat bed also at Target and like the colors so much I may decorate my living room to match it. Is that just wrong or what?!?!
6.Even though I am a hair dresser, I hate to do my own hair. I would rather do 5 other peoples hair than have to fix my own. I think it is because I can never get it to look as good as someone I do., or because I am just lazy.

These are a few of the many reasons I love our new house. These trees. The colors are just so vibrant this year.
This tree just started turning this week.
This one is my fav. and I get to look at it from my shop windows :)

Then we have the BIG Oak tree.

It has lived a good life, but there are parts of it starting to die. I hope It holds on for a few more years. I have an arborist friend, and he said it was 80+ years old. Just imagine what all it has seen.:)

hair cut

I know as a hair dresser my kid needed a hair cut..a good one. She got her first cut @ like 3 months. ( she was a little monkey)
So I finally layered up her hair. I cut all the stringy shit off. It does look thicker now,,, but boy her ponies are short. :(
And it has a bit of a red tint today:)

She took a chuck out of the butter!!! AGH!!! Like 2 Tbs!! She then ate it and asked for more.

Today I had to put our Andy man to sleep. I took him in to get fixed, and his shots since he had now made our new home his too. He spent the day time outside, and at night he would come in and sleep at our feet. He just started to sit with Reese and I at night when we would rock. Andy loved Reese, you could tell.
He had the feline leukemia and aids.
He couldn't be around any other cats, so I had no other choice.He was such a good cat. You may laugh, but he was special. He looked after Reese. He would follow us when we took walks just like a dog. I hate this. I hate we can get so attached to animals.
I had no clue I would miss him, or even cared this much.

I got the picture at a florist/decorative shop here in town ( Evansville, In)
It is called Gailhouse florist. You can pick from an assortment of different pictures, and then they have the frames there too.
I don't know if the have a web site. Probably not but it is worth a try to find something online.
If anyone wants directions to the store let me know.:)

we are finally moved!! So far we love our new house!! I will be glad when I can get everything put up and organized.
AND we get the Harper house sold!!
I have painted both houses till my fingers are raw, but Harper lookes pretty good again. :)

Is anyone else trying to buy a house right now? Scary.
The way I am looking at it, is with faith. Christopher and I both agree, that if the loan goes through, than we were meant to have this house,,, if not,,, we are supposed to sit tight, in our small ...but inexpensive home,, which we like and are perfectly fine with.
The media is making things seem really scary,, but a customer and I had a discussion yesterday, and we decided if the little people like us, kept on cutting hair and checking eyes ( she an eye doc) we will be ok.
Keep on keeping on,,, that's what us "blue collars" do.
