Friday,Oct 29th..

It was time to cut my hair,,so we decided a party would be the only way to go. That day was also the same day we found out the place on my face that we thought was a staph. infection, turned out to be shingles. It looked like I had the crap beat out of me, but I wasn't contagious, the girls both had the pox vaccine, so we were good the party was on...:)





I thought Regan would have a hard time with it because she loved to rub my hair on her face and play with it, but turns it hasn't bothered her bit.:)

Kristin had the hard job of cutting it off.. I only cried a little bit, then kicked myself in the ass and got on with it..:)

Reese enjoyed helping ,, it really hasn't effected her either.. God is so good to take care of things like this..

Of course Regan got hungry in the middle of it all.. and even with 15 people there,, only momma would do..:)

There it is... hopefully some nice kid will enjoy being a redhead. ( Locks of Love)

It was a good night..a night filled with wonderful friends, who have helped us so much through all of this,, I can't imagine doing this alone..

And now after it has been all said and done..the no hair thing is not a big deal at all....it's honestly kinda nice.. I can get ready from shower to make-up in 20 min... then decide what to put on.. hat? wig?? scarf?? DONE!! Easy!!

I think if it were more socially acceptable more people would..:)

Breast Cancer

So there I said it.If you haven't heard I got diagnosed with the big "C" on Sept 1st. I'm trying to figure out how to blog this journey, so we'll see how it goes..:)
~At 35, on Regan's 1st birthday, I found the lump myself. It was at the top of the my skin and very easy to tell something was there.
~Sept 30th went to see my family doc.
~next day, had a mammogram, ultrasound, and biopsy all with in 4 hours. ( I love that they could do it all at the Breast Center and I didn't have to leave)
~ Sept 1st got the call.. Lobular Breast Cancer
~Sept 3rd had the breast MRI.. ( fun,, fun,,) :)
~Sept 8th met my wonderful surgeon, Dr. Vassey
~Sept 21st had a partial mastectomy.. same day surgery
~Sept 29th post surgery appointment where we learned the tumor was 2 cm..
2 of the 3 lymph nodes were good, but there was a small amount found in one of the sentinel nodes
~Oct 12 met Dr.Stevens, my wonderful oncologist, where we decided on my treatment
8 chemo treatments, every other week , then 6 weeks of radiation. A bit on the aggressive side, but hopefully with my age and "healthy" body it won't be too bad..:)
~Oct 20th first Chemo treatment
