So there I said it.If you haven't heard I got diagnosed with the big "C" on Sept 1st. I'm trying to figure out how to blog this journey, so we'll see how it goes..:)
~At 35, on Regan's 1st birthday, I found the lump myself. It was at the top of the my skin and very easy to tell something was there.
~Sept 30th went to see my family doc.
~next day, had a mammogram, ultrasound, and biopsy all with in 4 hours. ( I love that they could do it all at the Breast Center and I didn't have to leave)
~ Sept 1st got the call.. Lobular Breast Cancer
~Sept 3rd had the breast MRI.. ( fun,, fun,,) :)
~Sept 8th met my wonderful surgeon, Dr. Vassey
~Sept 21st had a partial mastectomy.. same day surgery
~Sept 29th post surgery appointment where we learned the tumor was 2 cm..
2 of the 3 lymph nodes were good, but there was a small amount found in one of the sentinel nodes
~Oct 12 met Dr.Stevens, my wonderful oncologist, where we decided on my treatment
8 chemo treatments, every other week , then 6 weeks of radiation. A bit on the aggressive side, but hopefully with my age and "healthy" body it won't be too bad..:)
~Oct 20th first Chemo treatment
